Most of the two thousand odd items described here commemorate Hungarian physicians, the rest, divided into 31 groups, illustrates the history of Hungarian medicine from the 16 th century up to the present. The collection and presentation of these peerless relics of Hungarian cultural and medical history will surely interest not only the collectors of medals, but everyone concerned with any branch of Hungarian medicine or health, especially in view of the many data contained in the descriptions. The text is accompanied by 104 illustrated tables showing the most rare, more beautiful, or historically more important items.
